Oriole Feeders

Orioles are a treat to have in your backyard.  Most people see them during migration, both spring and fall, others are lucky enough to have them all summer long.

Arriving in April/May, depending on weather systems, they are very hungry from their journey.  Be sure to have your food options out and waiting for them.  The male, brilliant in color, arrives first followed by the female.  Their diet consists of insects, caterpillars, fruit (mainly oranges), jelly and nectar.

We have several styles of nectar feeders.  These hold a supply of sugar water, usually orange in color, for the orioles to drink.  Nectar mix is also available.

Another option is a fruit feeder for mounting orange halves. We also have jelly feeders for offering their favorite - grape jelly.  Some feeders are a combination of the two, both fruit and jelly.  By the way, if the orioles don't eat your oranges and jelly, several other songbirds will enjoy them.  Mealworms could also be offered in any of the jelly feeders.

These feeders can be hung, clipped onto shepard poles or placed in the ground atop a long rod. They are available in many different materials; plastic, wood, glass, metal and recycled plastic (polylumber).  Some are just plain and functional while others add a piece of real beauty to your backyard.  We have a great number of styles.

Orioles are attracted to the color orange and many feeders are orange in color.
