Like all Conant garden products, the Jeffersonian Rain Gauge features solid brass construction.  The finish is lightly antiqued and within a few month's exposure to the elements, it begins to age gracefully and develope a warm brown patina.  This instrument uses a mechanical float and lever design to measure up to 5" of ranin in 1/5" increments.  This gauge will turn into the wind to ensure the most accurate measurement or may be tightened down to fix its location.  The manufacturer give this rain gauge a lifetime guarantee.
